The Holy Ghost Is My Guide
Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. - Psalm 119:105
I was praying this morning and I thanked the Lord for guiding me and how I couldn’t have made it without Him leading me. I love Him for leading me. Then the Holy Spirit had me to think about a guide in the natural sense, and this is what I thought about.
When someone goes on a city tour or maybe a jungle safari, they have or should have a guide. A guide is someone who knows about the area and its dangers. Can you imagine going on a safari without a guide? Going alone will subject us to attacks from dangerous animals and people. The guide has traveled the path we would take, and he knows what lies ahead; we can only guess.
The word of God is our roadmap, and the Holy Spirit is our guide. We study the word of God to inform us of the good and the bad that we will encounter in this life. The Holy Spirit is our guide, protector, and keeper. Without the two, we would be lost and devoured in this jungle we call the world. If we stick with the Lord, we will complete this journey in one piece and make it to the Father in heaven for eternal rest.
I pray for the Holy Spirit's guidance for anyone who reads this short article. I pray we will listen to our divine guide as we journey through this dangerous place we call the word. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
