Real Peace

A seagull flying over peaceful waters.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)

There is a lot going on in the public news, and if you're like me, there is a lot going on in our personal news as well. Some of the things we see can be unsettling, and fear has tried to come in and cause doubt.

I want to encourage you with what's written in Philippians chapter 4, verses six and seven. Being anxious is an emotion that will cause us to be impatient, worry, doubt, and take matters into our own hands. We should replace anxiousness with prayer. I have felt anxious about things, and I found out that prayer calmed me down and allowed me to think clearly.

We should always give thanks and show gratitude for whatever situation we're in. It's easy to pray and thank God when the bank account is full, and we're able to do what we desire to do. But what about the times we face the opposite of happiness and peace? I learned that praying when everything is going well is as important as when times are not too good.

Whatever is troubling you, or whatever you need, tell the Lord about it. If you have faith, even small faith, the Lord will answer you first with a peace that is inexplainable and beyond your understanding. Like, "How can I be so peaceful when the world is falling apart?" kind of peace.

A barrier has been raised to ensure you have real peace

Remember. Our hearts are fragile, and our adversary, the devil, loves to come in and tear things apart. But the Spirit of the Lord will lift a standard against him to protect you and everything that concerns you. (Isaiah 59:19b - When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.)

Thank you, Lord, for this encouragement this morning. I pray this post will help lift someone's heart today. In Jesus' name. Amen.
